Privacy policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy describes exactly what happens to data when you use UnitSwapper. It is written to comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, in force since 1 September 2023) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The controller is Dizzus GmbH, Zug, Switzerland (UID CHE-469.903.322). Contact: [email protected].
What we do not collect
There are no user accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no cookies. The values you type into a converter are processed in your browser and are never sent to our servers. We do not sell, rent or share personal data, and we do not build profiles.
Server logs
Like any web server, ours records each request: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, browser identification string (user agent) and response status. These logs are used only to keep the service running (error diagnosis, abuse prevention) and are automatically deleted after 14 days. The rate limiter keeps a count of requests per IP address in memory for at most one minute. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure service (GDPR art. 6(1)(f); FADP art. 31).
Audience measurement
We measure traffic with Plausible, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves at analytics.dizzus.com (operated by Dizzus GmbH). It sets no cookie and stores no identifier in your browser. The page viewed, the referrer, the browser family, the operating system and the country are counted; the IP address and user agent are only used to derive a daily, salted hash that cannot be reversed, and are not stored. No data is transmitted to any third-party analytics provider.
Content delivery network
The site is delivered through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which processes your IP address and request headers to route traffic and block attacks. Cloudflare acts as our processor under its data processing addendum, which includes the EU standard contractual clauses and the Swiss addendum.
Currency exchange rates
Currency pages show rates that our server fetches once an hour. The interactive chart and the currency tab on the home page load additional rates directly from your browser, which means those providers see your IP address for that request: the Frankfurter API (European Central Bank reference rates) and open.er-api.com. Nothing else is sent to them.
Browser storage
Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and you can clear it from your browser settings at any time.
Advertising
The site currently shows no advertising and loads no advertising script. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any advertising code is added, and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data concerning you, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because server logs are the only personal data we hold and they are keyed by IP address, we will need the IP address and approximate time of your visits to locate them. Write to [email protected]. In Switzerland you may also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.
