Atmosphere (atm)
The atmosphere is a unit of pressure, used for scuba diving depth calculations, chemistry, and high-pressure physics. Its symbol is atm.

About the atmosphere
The standard atmosphere was defined in 1954 as exactly 101325 pascals, representing typical air pressure at sea level at 15 degrees Celsius.
In everyday use the atmosphere appears in scuba diving depth calculations, chemistry, and high-pressure physics. As a point of reference: at 10 meters underwater, pressure doubles to about 2 atmospheres.
