Men's shoe sizes: US, UK, EU and cm, Nike and adidas compared
There is no single conversion between US, UK and European shoe sizes, and this table shows it: for the same US 9, Nike labels the shoe UK 8 and EU 42.5, adidas labels it UK 8.5 and EU 42⅔. Both brands agree on the foot the shoe fits, about 26.2 cm. The UK difference is constant across the range (adidas UK runs half a size above Nike UK) and the EU difference wanders between zero and a full size because adidas counts in thirds of a size (Paris points) where Nike rounds to halves.

How to measure
Stand on a sheet of paper in the socks you will wear, mark the heel and the tip of the longest toe, and measure the distance in centimeters. Do it for both feet late in the day (feet swell) and keep the larger figure. Find that length in the foot column of the brand you are buying, rather than converting a size you own from another brand.
The table is a conversion between labels, not a measurement standard: brands differ by up to a full size. When a garment or shoe matters, use the centimeter column and the brand’s own chart. Centimeters to inches, if needed: cm to inches.
Sources
US, UK and EU sizes are copied from each brand’s chart as published. Nike gives foot length in inches (fractions of 1/16); the centimeter column here is that figure × 2.54. adidas publishes its own heel-to-toe length in centimeters, used as is.

US 10 at Nike, but US 9.5 at adidas. The two brands put the UK scale half a size apart, so convert with the chart of the brand you are buying.
